Arrests Made In Springer Road Burglary
Two Lawrenceburg residents and one Pulaski resident were arrested on Monday in the wake of a burglary that was reported at a Springer Road home.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that John Curtis Kingsbury, 20, and Dylan Jonathan Martin, 19, both of 217 Caroll Avenue, Lawrenceburg were jailed under charges of burglary, theft over $10,000, and vandalism, while Andrew Thomas Clark, age 20, of 537 Short School Road, Pulaski, was incarcerated on a burglary charge.
Reports indicate that a resident of 1101 Springer Road summoned officers to the home around 9:30 p.m. She told officers that the victim of the crime, her eighty-four year old father, was hospitalized at that time.
The resident told officers she had returned to the home to find an unfamiliar truck in the driveway. She found that a lock had been cut from a storage building on the property and the doors were standing open.
She said that she found Clark hiding in nearby bushes and questioned him about whether he had broken into the building. Clark reportedly denied having taken part in the crime. Since she had parked behind his truck, pinning it in, she said he left the property on foot.
Reports show that an officer made contact with Clark on Seventh Street. He told the officer his truck had broken down and he had pulled into the driveway. He said the resident came home and “got out screaming that he had broken into her storage building.”
Clark was transported back to the scene. Reports show that a set of bolt cutters were found in his truck, “and it looked as if they had been used.” A second pair was found in a trash can at a nearby church.
Clark then allegedly admitted he had been involved in the break-in, provided officers with the names of his two accomplices, and told them where to find the stolen items.
Carter was arrested, his truck towed to the city’s impound lot pending further investigation. All of the stolen property, including numerous knives, knife cases, rings and watches were recovered. The combined value of the items was estimated to be $10,021.
Clark was incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond while Martin and Kingsbury were jailed under bonds of $20,000 apiece. All three have been scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on February 7, 2013.
